Molly was born in Columbia, South Carolina on August 7, 1969. She graduated from the University of the South (B.A. 1991) and from the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D. 1994).

She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1994, the United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 1995, the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit in 1997, and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1999. She is a member of the Charleston County, South Carolina and American Bar Associations, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association, Defense Research Institute, International Association of Defense Counsel, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys and Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel. She has served on the Executive Committee of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys from 2002 until the present, is a current member of the Foundation Board for the International Association of Defense Counsel, and elected to serve on the Executive Council for the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys in 2007. She has successfully completed the Civil Trial Advocacy School at the University of Colorado sponsored by the International Association of Defense Trial Counsel and served on the faculty of the Trial Academy at Stanford Law School in July 2007.
