Elizabeth was born in Sumter, South Carolina on February 20, 1978. She graduated from the College of Charleston (B.A. 1999) and the University of South Carolina Law School (J.D. 2003) where she served on the executive board of the Student Bar Association and the Pro Bono Board.

She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2003. She is a member of the Charleston County, South Carolina, and American Bar Associations and the South Carolina Women Lawyer's Association. Her areas of practice include commercial litigation, insurance law, product liability, medical malpractice defense, health care law, and employment law.
