Elizabeth was born in Columbia, South Carolina on July 26, 1981. She graduated magna cum laude from Wofford College (B.A., 2003) and from the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D., 2007) where she was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, Palmetto Law Society, and Student Bar Association.

She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2007. She is a member of the Charleston County, South Carolina, and American Bar Associations. Her areas of practice include civil and commercial litigation, medical malpractice defense, nursing home litigation, health care law, and insurance law.
