Barbara Showers is a partner at the Hood Law Firm, LLC. She focuses her practice on medical malpractice, professional liability, products liability covering pharmaceutical and medical devices, employment law and insurance law. In addition to her trial work, Barbara is a frequent lecturer to health professional groups and has presented seminars on nursing liability and the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute.
Barbara received her B. S. in Nursing from the University of Maryland School of Nursing and practiced as a Registered Nurse in the states of Maryland and Delaware. After spending nearly ten years as a nurse, Barbara made the decision to go to law school. She received her J.D. from Delaware Law School, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and the Order of Barristers and served as vice president of the Moot Court Honor Society.
Barbara has more than 20 years of experience litigating cases throughout the East Coast. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Tennessee and South Carolina. A seasoned trial attorney and caring confidante for her clients, Barbara has the experience and skill to handle any case presented to her.
